Although UK delivered some really great music by LKJ, Dennis Bovell, Macka B, Matumbi, On U Sound, Aswad and of course Steel Pulse (also check the album "Don't Call Us Immigrants released on Pressure Sounds" and read the book "Bass Culture"). Steel Pulse really impressed performing live especially in this show taking place in November 1982 at the Paradiso club Amsterdam. Check it out and remember that without the reggae scene in the UK, reggae would probably not have landed on the european continent at all probably. Recommended listening Steel Pulse: the album "Handsworth Revolution" is a real classic. A reggae record collection without it is not complete. Found this tape in my basement again, it's full of dropouts but still excellent stuff. This one I recorded in 1986 from a broadcast by VPRO radio in the Netherlands. I am still wondering if they have the master tapes of the full concert? Classic recordings that should be released on cd; I would buy it immediately!
